We decided to move from our rental house in Nottingham to a smaller apartment in Exeter, right near the train station that Dad commutes from. The month of April was a very busy time of packing and moving, and we are grateful for the help of the Hebert family.
We've been wanting to move to Maine eventually, so we've been looking at houses up there this year. Not long before we moved to the apartment, we came across a property that sounded very interesting. It was 25 acres, and had
a large addition with a two-car garage, office space, and an apartment above
a five-stall barn with paddocks
a little log-cabin

a riding arena, and lots of woods. We did the majority of our Maine house-hunting in the winter, so we didn't really know what the property would look like in the spring or summer. However, we took a look with some friends in Maine, and after much praying decided to put in an offer! Well, the property belonged to a bank, which was having some troubles with communication but in the end the bank accepted our offer! The closing was on April 22 and took less than an hour. Praise the Lord!
So for the last several weekends we've been going up there to, moving up what won't fit in the apartment and taking care of the property! There's plenty of work to do, but we also have time to enjoy the land. There are lots of deer and turkeys, singing birds, a resident woodchuck, and plenty of annoying bugs. Despite the bugs, we enjoy going there, as it's our get-away from a small apartment and bustling town life.
(That's not all we've been doing lately... stay tuned for a post about our time with Newtown Christian Fellowship and the Good News on the Move team!)
